In July of 2020, in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic we introduced a discounted freight matrix for the entirety of our service network. This new cost system greatly decreased freight prices and eliminated accessorial upcharges completely. We are very proud of this easy to use low-cost system.

However, facing unprecedented inflation and skyrocketing costs, we made the hard decision to introduce a variable accessorial fuel surcharge in June of 2021 to help navigate these increasing costs. This variable fuel surcharge allows the customer to experience a fairer increase in fuel related cost as the price of Diesel fluctuates. We added this cost as an accessorial rather than increasing our service pricing in hopes that the economy would return to something of a normal. 

Thankfully fuel costs seem to finally be on the decline, unfortunately inflation costs remain and that normal we are all looking for isn’t quite back. Due to this we are adjusting our base pricing for all customers for the first time since the pandemic. This will help our pricing remain steady and create an easier return to the discounted pricing that Montana Air Cartage was founded upon. With this increase to the base cost we have been able to reduce the fuel surcharge almost completely, We are hopeful that fuel costs will continue to decline.

Montana Air Cartage offers 103 daily routes served by 125 employees that cover the entirety of Montana, Northern Wyoming, Northern Idaho, Eastern Washington, Western North Dakota, and Western South Dakota. We are operating 24 hours a day 7 days a week to supply these areas with overnight and same day service along with supply connections to Salt Lake City UT, Denver CO, and Spokane Washington. We have the best staff anyone could ask for; everyone is giving it their all every single day and it is hard work.
